Lodging

Alright now, let's get all friendly and creative! As of Sept 28th, the hotel right next to Springstep, the Hyatt Place, is completely sold out for Friday October 30th, and very close to selling out for Saturday October 31st. Because of this, we've arranged a special festival rate at two other hotels that are just a short drive away. The Courtyard Marriott of Woburn (about a 10 minute drive up I-93, away from Boston) is offering a rate of $79 a night for rooms with two double beds or one king bed, and La Quinta Inns & Suites in Somerville is offering a discounted rate of $103-120 a night, depending how many people will stay in the room and whether it has two double beds or one king sized bed. Limited housing is also available with local tango dancers. Read on for more information on all of these options.

Staying in a Hotel

Hyatt Place - 116 Riverside Ave, Medford, (781) 395-8500

The Hyatt Place, right next to the festival venue, is $109 a night for up to four person occupancy. Rooms are still available for Thursday and Sunday, and a few on Saturday, but Friday is sold out. Rooms have a comfortable sleeper sofa and either two double beds or a king sized bed. Many amenities are included in the price, such as the continental breakfast buffet, complimentary Wi-Fi and high-speed DSL Internet access, 42" flat panel HDTV, refrigerator, coffeemaker, hair dryer and iron/ironing board in suite, laundry facility, an indoor heated pool, and a fitness center (in case you're not getting enough exercise. ;).

Call (781) 395-8500 to make your reservation and ask for the Tango Festival rate. If you encounter any problems you can ask for Macaire Matchett in Sales at the Medford Hyatt Place.

Courtyard Marriott of Woburn - 240 Mishawum Road, Woburn, (800) 321-2211 or (781) 932-3200

The Courtyard Marriott of Woburn is an easy 10 minute drive from Springstep on I-93N, heading away from Boston. It's offering a great rate of $79 a night for for rooms with two double beds or one king bed (rooms do not have a sleeper sofa). High speed Internet access and in-room coffee and tea are included.

Call (800) 321-2211 or (781) 932-3200 to make your reservation and ask for the Tango Festival rate. Or book your room over the internet. The following links take the tango festival rate into account.

La Quinta Inns & Suites 23 Cummings St, Somerville, MA 02145, (617) 625-5300

If you'd like to stay a bit closer to downtown Boston and Cambridge, La Quinta Inns is your best choice. Somerville nestles between Medford (where Springstep sits) and Cambridge (where hip and nerdy Cantabridgians live, work and dine). La Quinta is offering a special rate of, well, somewhere between $103.50 - $120.60 a night depending on the number of people (1-2 people is cheaper), type of room (room with a king bed is cheaper than two double beds), and exact date (Saturday and Sunday are on the expensive end of that scale). The rate includes a complimentary breakfast, guest laundry facility, swimming pool and some other stuff (but no free internet access).

Call (866) 527-1498 to make your reservation and ask for the Tango Festival rate.

Staying with the Locals

There is limited housing available with generous local Boston tango dancers. Sometimes they have a guest room to share, and sometime they're willing to let you crash on their couch. Go to the Forum page for information on requesting local housing. Please note, though, that if you stay with a local we hope that you can rent a car! Getting to the festival venue is difficult without one, since public transportation is limited and stops running from about midnight to 6am. See the Transportation page for more information on how to get around.

If you are able to host out-of-town dancers in your home, please contact Tova directly.
